The proposed sea rod licence
has only been postponed
YES!!!!! the proposed sea rod licence has been shelved, well for now anyway.
Defra listened to all concerned, including sea anglers, and decided not to introduce a licence at the present time.
Sort of contradicts all those who say "the government won't listen unless you pay, doesn't it.
Now that the proposed sea rod licence has been shelved I am changing the site a bit, it will still be angling related and it will mainly be a platform for me to say what I think about journalism and politics in angling, but there will also be I hope some useful info on here.
The sea rod licence debate led to so much rubbish flying around from individuals, angling journalists and the angling media, it has really opened my eyes to how much contempt some anglers have for others and how some angling journalists think they have a right to say what happens in angling, then we have the magazines that allow those journalists to print incorrect facts (sometimes complete and utter rubbish) and yet do not bother to correct them when told that they are incorrect. Oh and politics is not exempt either, one MP in particular is in for a fair bit of criticism.
Angling journalists are allowed say what they want, get away with contradicting themselves, and get to influence the way anglers think, usually by printing incorrect, partially correct or only selected parts of the facts, well now I'm going to say what I want, I'm going to point out those contradictions and I'm going to correct those facts so that anglers can see the bigger picture, see both sides of the argument, and can make their own minds up.
I will be keeping the contacts page because there will always be something that MP's need telling but I will be updating it with more contacts, I will also be adding a links page for some of the great angling websites, organisations, etc out there, there will hopefuly be something in there for every angler.
Some of the stuff that I put on here you might agree with, some you might not, but come back anyway and have a look, go on, you know you want to, I hope to have at least some of the new site up and running by the beginning of June so please call back then.
